Or simply utilize the default online account sync characteristic which works just fine and you pretty much don't need to practise anything.

I followed your instructions and downloaded the contacts app, did a backup which said it would bear witness backup and restore but this doesn't show on my SD card when I checked it after
From your instructions at that place is a Files App too simply that is no different to One Bulldoze which I have but this besides doesn't show my contacts
Why not, any ideas please
My phone is a nokia lumia 730 using windows viii.1

Yous cannot access the contacts backup and browse through information technology like a simple list, you can only restore the backup and and then access contacts from the People app afterwards restoring.

ok thanks. Tin I therefore assume that there is a fill-in on my sd card that I can use to restore should I need to. Seems a shame that it is non actually listed on it

Hi Justin,
I take made a redundancy onto the SD of my Lumia 620. I could open the contacts file with Notepad, nonetheless the SMS dorsum-up shows equally an Outlook file and it will not allow me to open information technology. The bulletin says to check that it is not already open and to check permissions, but upon checking, there seems to be no security consequence.

And why does information technology install on mine simply and then not work at all? It but continues to run saying "looking for items to fill-in..."

ThanksI noticed in your pics above you don't have mms selected, which I find interesting because that is where my problem lies. I have never been able to get this method to make it through the mms back upwardly. I perform each step separately, get contacts, and so sms, no problem. Then I select mms and without fail, it crashes virtually a 3rd of the style through every time. I have tried dozens of times. Has anybody else had this trouble? If so, how did you solve it, or did you lot?

I accept Lumia 535. installed it but problem to backup. I choose only contacts and then it starts processing showing counter below it stoped at (70 of 834). so I got only 70 contacts in fill-in file. I have tried information technology run over again same result, seems some format of contact is not uniform...

It is a while ago at present, but I seem to remember that I was able to transfer my phone contacts using the Mobile Transfer App (there seemed to be some transposition of data). I remember that photos and text letters would not go. I've been able to proceed my onetime Lumia as a database though, so not then bad.
